Sarah O’Gorman
BTA award winning director who began her career at BBC Creative Services in 1998 and went on to create some of televisions most iconic moments from Terry Wogan break dancing to bringing back Dr Who.
In 2008 Sarah joined The Mob Film Company and has recently delivered nearly 40 sponsorship idents for ITV’s biggest hit TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ sponsored by Iceland. Sarah’s pedigree as one of the UK’s biggest drama directors made her the perfect choice for Iceland’s new approach to advertising. Directing ‘Real Mum’s’ selected from in-store competitions across the UK.
In 2000 Sarah won the Best Newcomer Award at Promax UK and was shortlisted by D&AD for Best TV & Cinema Graphics. In 2000, a stint at the Soho Theatre saw Sarah directing ‘Mr Nobody’ & ‘Badnuff’. Then at Red Bee Media, Doctor Who was brought back to our screens, followed by an ad for BBC Three’s ‘Conviction’, all shot in reverse which picked up 2 World Gold Awards at Promax/BDA, one for Best Director & 2 Silver Awards. She then got Terry Wogan to break dance, Little Britain’s Lou to fly a jetpack and picked up a BTA for Best Performance for UKTV’s ‘Five Steps’ campaign. By 2006 Sarah’s talent for directing performance with commercial flare, was rewarded with a place on the BBC Drama Director’s Academy. Since then Sarah has directed Holby City, Doctors, Holby Blue & Bone Kickers for BBC One.
In 2009 she completed a new comedy, ‘Plus One’, for Channel 4 and directed a Bourne-style thriller, ‘The Fixer’, for ITV and has a BBC Three drama called ‘Bright Side’ set for release in 2011.
